LEYF's social enterprise model means we can offer both fee-paying and Government-funded places.
You may be eligible for free Early Years education.
All 3- and 4-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of free Early Years education and care a week for 38 weeks of the year (term time).
At LEYF nurseries, you can also choose to stretch the total 570 hours over the whole calendar year. This equates to 11 hours per week.
The Government also has the extended offer for working families, which is 30 hours of free Early Years education and care for 3- and 4-year-olds. This equates to 22 hours per week if you are stretching the funding across the whole year.
*To find out whether you are eligible for funding, please visit www.ChildcareChoices.gov.uk
Once your child turns 3, you can start claiming your free Early Years education and care on these dates:
|Child’s birthday||When you can claim|
|1st January – 31st March||The beginning of term on or after 1st April (usually after Easter)|
|1st April – 31st August||The beginning of term on or after 1st September|
|1st September – 31st December||The beginning of term on or after 1st January|
All children become eligible for funding at the start of the term after they turn 3. For example, a child born on 12th February will become eligible at the start of the term beginning on or after 1st April.
Free Early Years education is available at:
- Day nurseries
- Nursery schools and nurseries on school sites
- Nursery classes in schools and academies
- Children’s centres
- Some playgroups and pre-schools
The way we offer free places at LEYF varies across our nurseries. If you would like to find out more about the free hours available, please contact your local nursery.
