Our new purpose-built LEYF nursery is an exciting addition to our family of nurseries across London, and it holds a particularly special place as the first-ever LEYF nursery designed and built from scratch. Located in The Reach building, directly opposite Thames Mead Health Centre, Thames Reach Nursery and Pre-School is well-connected, with excellent transport links: just a 15-minute walk from Plumstead Station and only 8 minutes by bus from Woolwich Station.
This custom-designed nursery reflects LEYF’s core principles of sustainability and thoughtful design, creating a welcoming space for 74 children across three rooms – babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers. A nurturing garden provides children with new opportunities for outdoor learning, including a gardening club where they can explore nature hands-on. Inside, a purpose-built kitchen will deliver fresh, healthy, and nutritious meals and snacks daily.
We are proud to offer more than just childcare, Thames Reach Nursery is a hub for community engagement. Parents can enjoy a range of enriching activities, such as Special Parent Days, fun Playdough Masterclasses, and group library trips, fostering strong bonds between families, staff, and children. Our commitment to sustainability extends to our Sustainable Garden, where children and families can experience the joys of growing their own plants while learning about the environment.
In partnership with landlords Peabody and their community foundation team, LEYF is dedicated to creating a vibrant learning environment that enriches the lives of children and families in Thamesmead.

Hello, my name is Alethea and I'm the nursery manager at Thames Reach Nursery and Pre-School. Here, we offer a bright and spacious environment, which develops children’s confidence and social skills. We have a passionate team at Thames Reach. Our staff give each child the personal attention they need and encourage the children to take an active role in planning activities.
