Learning To Swim

Learning to Swim

With summer coming up, you and your little ones will no doubt be looking for a way to cool off! And swimming is perfect. But teaching your children how to swim can be a daunting task. But we’re here to help you create some amphibious little ones!

The first thing to consider is that water can seem daunting to your child, especially if you live in a built up area. Introduce the idea of swimming to them slowly and encourage them on every step of the way.  Learning to swim doesn’t happen in a day!

Secondly, make sure to lead by example if possible. Show them that swimming can be fun! If they see you doing it, it will make them feel a lot more at ease when the time comes to dip their toes into the water

When they finally feel confident enough to get into the kiddy pool you need to be patient and guiding – and have plenty of armbands! Support them at every single step and make sure they don’t panic – ease them along at a comfortable pace.

If you’re struggling to teach them yourself, there are tons of child friendly swimming courses across London that can help your little one become a fantastic little swimmer!

So, these are some of our short tips for helping your little one learn to swim! Got any suggestions of your own? Let us know over on Facebook  or Twitter!
