Each One Teach One
How LEYF promotes excellence in early years literacy and numeracy teaching through working with parents
This project improves the teaching of numeracy and literacy skills in early years, and ensures that the children in our nurseries are better prepared for school by promoting a nurturing home learning environment. Each One Teach One enables us to develop the knowledge, confidence and skills of our practitioners so that they can deliver a high quality, consistent, age-appropriate curriculum in numeracy and literacy. Staff are encouraged to hold regular pedagogical conversations with parents to sustain and mirror children's learning at home.
•Improve attainment through excellent teaching
•Increase confidence and skills of nursery staff, ensuring delivery of a high quality, age-appropriate curriculum in mathematics and literacy
•Better support parents to sustain children’s learning at home, with ‘home learning bags’ with activities reflecting the curriculum. Delivered through pedagogical conversations
