Job Description

Situated in East Dulwich, our Gumboots Nursery is a busy and vibrant setting where the children enjoy regular visits to The Horniman Museum and Peckham Rye Park to explore and enjoy their community. Our new Room Leader should match our approach to learning, always putting the child first. A strong focus on children’s interests and next steps means our Room Leader should encourage and support child-led development. Leadership is exceptionally strong here and the management and team are committed to continuous improvement. Our new room leader should champion the team to take on challenges and practice the very best teaching

Job Requirements

  • Full and relevant child care qualification at level 3 or above.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
  • experience working in an early year’s setting and specific experience with Baby room.
  • To be a confident leader, articulating your ideas and using planning and preparation to ensure their success.
  • To distribute staff and resources effectively, maintaining ratios whilst supporting other rooms.
  • To champion LEYF’s values and advocate our mission to save the world one child at a time.
  • To continually strive for best practice in yourself and inspiring others.
  • Have a passion for making a difference in their communities.
  • A child centred approach to teaching using creative and exciting methods to engage and stimulate

Working at Gumboots

  • 2 ‘baby’ rooms, 1 ‘2-3’ room, 1 ’preschool’ room
  • 87 place Nursery
  • Opening Times: 8am to 6pm
  • Our purpose-built building has a Baby room with a separate garden. Large outdoor space for the older children to share.
  • Our friendly atmosphere, welcoming team and exceptional reputation makes us a proud and dynamic team.
