I've worked at Bird in Bush nursery for over 17 years, although LEYF took it over in 2014. Our nursery is special because it's located on the Old Kent Road, which was originally part of an ancient trackway that was paved by the Romans and used by the Anglo-Saxons! Bird in Bush opened in the 1920s as the Welfare Centre for Children and Families and has been a beacon in the community ever since. I feel humble and proud to be part of the nursery's history and to be able to leave positive imprints on our children's lives - present and future. I believe that every child is a uniquely special individual who must be provided with a secure, caring and stimulating an environment in which to grow and mature cognitively, emotionally, physically and socially.
We know it’s our people who make LEYF great. That’s why we value each staff member and offer:
● Pay and conditions above the national average in the nursery sector
● A nurturing, fun and value-led working environment
● An award-winning staff training and development programme
● The opportunity to make a real difference to children’s lives
