Two more "Outstanding" nurseries for LEYF!
In November 2016 two more of our nurseries - Furze and Henry Fawcett - were inspected by Ofsted and achieved an 'Outstanding' rating. This brings up the total amount of 'Outstanding' LEYF nurseries to 19 or 63% (of those inspected) - well above the national average of 17%.
Furze Children's Centre Nursery in Chadwell Heath was previously rated as 'Good', so the team strove to bring this up to an 'Outstanding'. The inspectors noted that "staff have an in-depth understanding of how to identify any concerns about a child's welfare" and were also "excellent role models for children" signifying the positive impact that staff have on children. As a result children "flourish and are inspired to learn and explore" in Furze.
Henry Fawcett in Lambeth has a similar story. It was also previously rated as a 'Good' nursery and were once again inspired to improve this rating. Ofsted noted that "the manager monitors the development of all children extremely efficiently and ensure that gaps in learning close sharply" highlighting how closely Henry Fawcett's manager works with the children themselves. Of course, Rachel is backed up by "highly enthusiastic staff" who "plan stimulating activities that relate well to the interests and specific learning needs of each child". As a result, Ofsted concluded that "all children, including those with special educational needs, make excellent progress from their starting points" .
