Another 2 'Outstanding' nurseries in the LEYF family!
Ofsted inspections at Brixton and Colville nurseries in October have seen another 2 LEYF settings rated 'Outstanding', bringing the total number to 17. Currently 55% of our inspected nurseries are 'Outstanding', well over the national average of 17%.
Colville nursery in Notting Hill was upgraded from a 'Good' following their last inspection in 2012, a fantastic result for recently promoted manager Neelam and the team . The inspector was impressed with how 'children make rapid progress in their learning from their starting points' and 'children from minority groups make excellent progress in line with their peers'. She also noted that 'partnerships with parents are excellent. Parents comment highly on the work of the committed staff team and the superb learning experiences their children have.' Inspectors visited Brixton a week later for the first time since the nursery opened in August 2014. The inspector praised Tania, the nursery manager, who they described as being 'exceptionally knowledgeable about her role and responsibilities' and 'extremely successful in making expertly targeted and highly effective improvements'. She observed that 'staff are extremely attentive to children's individual needs and get to know them very well. Children feel happy and secure and form very strong bonds with the nursery staff'. We're very proud of the Brixton team for obtaining an 'Outstanding' on their very first inspection, a famously difficult feat. You can read their full report here.
