How we’re funded

By far the greater part of our income comes directly from parents, paying flexible fees for a much higher than average quality service.

For the rest – and for more than a century - we have worked tirelessly to support children and families, raising additional funds, first in Westminster and then beyond. In pursuit of our ambition to build a better future for London’s children, we have enjoyed the help of local authorities, government initiatives, trusts, commercial organisations and charity campaigns, such as Help a London Child and BBC Children in Need.

With recent government cuts, not to mention the increasing financial pressure on parents - making it increasingly difficult for the average household to afford quality daycare at market prices – the pattern of our funding is changing. The challenge now is not merely to remain sustainable and independent, but instead to grow and help even more families.

Instead of simply raising prices to cover increased costs (as is typically the case in the private sector), we do everything we can to subsidise ours; by continually looking for new income streams, widening our income base and seeking efficiencies, we ensure families who would not otherwise be able to access our consistently high quality childcare and education are still able to do so.
