A better future

Investing in quality

As a social enterprise, knowing exactly where our money goes is crucial for long term sustainability; and for us, the biggest investment by far is naturally in the high quality of our staff. Fortunately, our focus on driving ‘profit for people and planet’ means we can cover this, along with all other essential operational costs.

However, whilst our [number of nurseries] community, workplace and Children’s Centre nurseries are well known for helping local families – and we do all we can to support these through our socially inclusive fee structure - sometimes even this is not enough to put the type of childcare parents need within reach. Extra funding is needed; and that’s why we created ‘A Better Future’, a campaign specifically geared to helping local parents trying to get back into work.

Will you help us build a better future for London’s children?

Many children lack the opportunity of a solid start in life due to financial difficulties and other related problems at home. Government funding for 3-4 year olds has increased but is still limited to the equivalent of half a day during term time only (and that simply isn’t enough quality free time to focus on finding, applying and attending interviews for a job).

Fortunately, already this year, funding received from individuals like you has made it possible for us to directly support four families with childcare, which in turn has given them the priceless opportunity to access training and job searches to secure a better future for their family.

The full cost to fund a place in our nursery under this scheme is £12,750/year, but any donation towards this goal is gratefully received.

With your support and ‘A Better Future’, we can make a real dent in child poverty across the capital by offering short-term childcare places to many more parents looking for work, whilst improving the life chances of their children through consistent, high quality care and education in a diverse social environment.
