London Early Years Foundation (LEYF) recognises that within the Early Years sector the workforce is its greatest resource and asset. LEYF believes that learning and development are integral to its success.
The quality of all services is dependent on creating a workforce which is reflective and continually evaluates and reviews their practice whilst positively engaging with research and external initiatives. Developing a quality service is a continual process. Demands placed on organisations are continually changing and challenging therefore successful organisations are those that can meet these changes.
LEYF considers investment in learning and development of staff as crucial to the delivery of an affordable, accessible and high quality service.
The following is taken from an email from the principal at 'Ready Steady Go' after her staff attended two bespoke training days at LEYF:
"Thank you for two excellent staff training sessions last month. The whole-day Team Development training was not only very enjoyable and interesting, it was also highly effective. The team action plan, which the staff formulated with your guidance, introduced a 10 minute morning meeting. It took a few weeks - and a gentle reminder - for the meeting to come into effect. It is now part of the morning at the nursery, and staff say they find it incredibly useful and grounding.
The Senior Management Training seems to have had quite an effect on some senior staff, who appear to be looking at the company with new eyes. There is much less negativity around than before your training, a much more positive 'can do' approach. I am delighted.
As I already knew from the ILM Level 2 training, and has now been confirmed by my staff team of 20, you are a very talented management trainer."
